Default Speed with Wireless Router

Hi,
I use a Belkin Wireless Router with my Chorus Broadband Service.

I have just noticed that I get a 2meg download speed when using the Wireless connection from my Dell laptop while I can get a 4 meg speed when I connect directly to the Chorus modem with a network cable.

Is there a speed limit on Wireless connections or can I adjust some settings to get the same Wireless and hardwired speeds

all sugestions welcome.

PS Chorus speed should be 6 meg but I have never been able to see that speed on the Download test
Rgds

There's always a bit of latency on a wireless connection. I'll see if I can run a test on my home network this evening to see if it makes a difference
